Domain 2007 – the annual public art project funded by the ACT Government, managed by the ANU School of Art, curated by Cathy Laudenbach – locates ten public art projects in and around Alinga Street, in downtown Canberra. Artist Peter Vandermark started with a series of anagrams for “Alinga Street”, which he’s programmed into a Coates Hire signage system. Peter has a friend who came up with 68 more and thus by sheer serendipity the ‘s’ in ArtWranglers got his three seconds of fame, here snapped by the curator…

Just for the record: they are my anagrams. The machine was programmed when Al sent me his list of 68, which included ‘stare at nigel’ that I didn’t have.
Several last minute calls to Coates and one of the frames was dropped to include it.
The VMB’s can run nine frames per sequence. A second sequence will kick in on Friday 9th.
cheers,
PV
